Kudos to all who put themselves out there for the Rocky Mountain Trainer ride evaluation yesterday, and congratulations to those who passed.
.
Achieving RMT certifies that a trainer is qualified by @psiarmaasi to lead instructor certification training in the Rocky Mountain Division, and is one of the stepping stones on the pathway to becoming an Examiner.
.
As an Examiner at the RMT we are evaluating peers and friends who we’ve seen develop over the years and who are already trainers at their home mountains. It is always humbling to witness someone pass a component of their trainer exam, and a honor to play a role in developing those who haven’t passed yet.

It’s been a busy season full of teaching guests

It’s been a busy season full of teaching guests and training instructors.

Finding a few minutes of solitude amongst some Aspen trees after a great day of riding powder is an awesome opportunity to reflect on the day and how lucky we are to live and work in the mountains of Colorado.

Thanks @coorslight for encouraging me to find time to just chill. It’s hard to beat fresh snow in the trees and an ice-cold Coors Light to enjoy at the end of the day (must be 21+). #KeepingColoradoChill #ad

This is a shot from my first long ride wakefoiling without a rope a few weeks ago. After a few short rides where it started to come together, on this go it just happened.
Last year we weren’t sure if we would ever get this wakefoil thing figured out to a degree that we could surf without the rope. This summer proved that perseverance in learning (through bruised thighs, sliced shins, and smashed toes) pays off.
The feeling of surfing a hydrofoil on a wake is unreal, as seen in my expression of incredulity. This is the closest feeling you can get to riding 2’ of pow.

Teaching a Penguin Slide requires leading by example. Catch your toe edge and dive in headfirst. Actually, that pretty much sums up clinicing in China.

These are multi-week courses designed to provide some additional training and workshop through common challenges of AASI certification.
